About Me
I’m Tony, a Yorkshire-based landscape and adventure photographer with a passion for the outdoors, exploring new places and capturing the beauty of the natural world.
My photography journey began around 20 years ago. What started as a hobby became something much more meaningful - a way to escape the pressures of work, slow down and reconnect with nature.
From Passion to Profession
Largely self-taught, I spent countless hours experimenting with my camera, learning new techniques and developing my own photographic style.
Over time, I expanded my experience through workshops, different photographic disciplines and professional assignments, including wedding photography. Each experience helped shape my understanding of light, composition and the art of storytelling through images.
Today, my focus has returned to where my passion has always been strongest — landscape, travel and adventure photography. It's less about simply taking a photograph and more about the journey, the experience and capturing those fleeting moments that make a place special.
Two Passions, One Journey
Photography and cycling have become two inseparable parts of my life. What started as independent interests has evolved into a shared passion for adventure, exploration and discovering the world from a different perspective.
Cycling takes me beyond the familiar, along quiet Yorkshire lanes, remote gravel trails and spectacular mountain passes. It offers a sense of freedom, the opportunity to challenge myself and, perhaps most importantly, the chance to discover extraordinary landscapes that I might otherwise never experience.
Photography allows me to capture those journeys — the changing light, the dramatic scenery, the unexpected moments and the stories that unfold along the way.
From gravel cycling adventures in the French Alps to exploring the Yorkshire Dales by bike, I'm increasingly drawn to combining endurance cycling with landscape and adventure photography. Sometimes the photograph is the reason for the journey; other times, the journey reveals a photograph I never expected to find.
For me, it's not simply about reaching a destination or capturing the perfect image. It's about the experience, the connection with the landscape and the memories created along the way.
The Journey Continues
There's always another landscape to discover, another road to explore and another story waiting to be told.
Photography continues to inspire me to get outdoors, seek new experiences and appreciate the extraordinary beauty of the world around us. Whether close to home in Yorkshire or somewhere further afield, I'm always curious about what lies around the next corner.
